Dear Lori,I am 12 years old and there's this guy i really like. I feel like there's a connection, he even gave me a nickname to call him, D'Angelo. I really like him. I laugh at his corny jokes; I give him eye contact. Please help me; I don't know what else to do.

Dear Raven,
It does sound like you have a connection with this guy and he responds positively to your attempts to flirt with him. So, I am not sure what it is that you want him to do beyond what he's doing? I assume that you might not be sure how he feels about you. If so, then you could look for opportunities to get to know each other more. Assuming that you have no restrictions from your parents regarding boys….you could ask him for his email address so that the two of you could talk online. You could get a group together to go to the movies, study, go skating or some other activity and ask him if he and his friends would like to come along. You could see if one of your friends knows one of his friends. If this is the case, you can use your friend to act as an intermediary. Of course, if you do this, you run the risk of more people finding out how you feel about this guy.
The point of all the suggestions is to create opportunities for the two of you to get to know each other. With other people included, he won't feel so awkward and neither will you. If he is interested in you, then he'll accept your invites.
